Single-Sided Edgebanding Machine, Model KAL 310/3/A3

 The Homag KAL is a single-sided edgebanding machine designed especially for the application of coiled edge material at high production rates. All stations are mounted to the left of the chain track as seen from the operator’s feeding position.

 The machine base construction is designed for industrial applications with a continuous frame for mounting the processing units.  It is equipped with an outrigger panel support with roller guides extendable to approximately 800 mm (31-1/2”).  An end trim chip removal channel is constructed in the machine frame.

Production panels are held securely by a heavy-duty feed chain and robust top pressure system. The feed chain is guided on precision hardened guides. Trackpads are 80 mm (3-5/32”) wide and are topped with a rubber covering.

Track feed speed is electronically controlled via the Operator Control Panel and includes electronic motor braking.

The top pressure system is composed of a heavy steel beam and a compound V-belt. The compound V-belt provides greater surface area for holding small panels at higher feed rates. The positioning of the top pressure beam is accomplished via motorized height adjustment with decimal read-out for height position.

Solid-state electronic frequency converters are used to control the spindle speed of the processing units. Electronic converters provide a quieter work environment and greater production reliability.
