Support is the part of an installation that gets improvised when it was not planned. The result is loads carried by structure that was never intended for them, supports that make future service access difficult, and installations that look and behave like an afterthought. Designing supports as part of the project means the finished system is properly carried, accessible for maintenance, and does not create problems for whoever works on it next.
